Supplier Rating 6: Hearts & Bells Cake Artistry

Wedding Cake, Cupcakes and Mini-Cakes

Peso Power = 8, 164.00 (Includes a Php 3,000 GC won through the W@W auction)

Rating: 9

During the wedding preps, Hearts & Bells was at the top of our list as we did not want a traditional wedding cake, and they did not let us down.

1. Peso Power

We originally booked them at an 8k rate (plus 800 delivery fee) for a 3-layered wedding cake, 12 mini cakes and 60 cupcakes, but we wanted edible cake decors, instead of photo prints, so we incurred additional fees of around Php 864.00. Good thing we were able to win a GC in the W@W auction and they were kind enough to let us use this to reduce our costs.

2. Artistry and Service

They were able to provide us with different designs for our wedding cake months before the wedding. The initial email regarding the design came to us around February which was a month earlier than scheduled, and the revisions followed. By mid-April, we were able to decide on the design and artistry of our cake (to match our possible topper) – this was 2 months ahead of our wedding, and a month ahead of our schedule. Talk about fast and reliable customer service.

Second sketch. This is actually what we wanted to choose, but traditionalist won the "round cakes" so we had this revised.

3. Taste and Quality

We chose two flavors: chocolate and pineapple and carrot – slicing part was pineapple carrot (to avoid those chocolate stains on our teeth during pictorials. Haha). We loved both flavors, and the cake was moist, even the cupcakes and mini cakes. It also lasted for a few days (not refrigerated), and I was even able to bring some to our office – our officemates loved the flavors as well.

Overall, we had a breeze working with them, and had no headache at all! J One slight negative comment was that the cakes were delivered to the venue with ANTS (well black ones)! When our OTD, mentioned it to their delivery guy, he just ignored and left. Good thing though that we were in such a good mood, and one of our grand-aunts mentioned that black ants means financial good luck to the couple (another pamahiin) so we just smiled and let it go.

Giddy bride,
