Supplier Rating 2: Antel Grand Village

Venue: Antel Grand Village’s Clubhouse Ballroom

Peso Power = 17, 500

Rating: 7

Antel was not our first venue in mind. If you had gone through our blogs, you may have noticed that we initially wanted to book Island Cove or Leighton Hall in Lancaster Estates. But certain events and issues had led us to this place. This was actually at the end of our list because of its price, but it was worth it in the end.

To fairly rate them, we have divided our review in 4 parts: Location and Accessibility, Space, Amenities, and Service and Customer Relations.

1. Location and Accessibility

It is located roughly around 10 – 15 minutes from the Church, but comparing to our other choices, Antel is the nearest venue. It is also located in an exclusive village, so party crashers could easily be avoided.
However, accessibility to the place is a bit limited by commute as guests would have to ride a tricycle from the main road to the Clubhouse itself, which could cost them about Php 30 – 50. Going back to the main road is also an issue if they only went there by commute, as they would need to find themselves a tricycle because walking is out of the option.

2. Space

The ballroom that we used was able to accommodate 200 guests, and was able to provide a spacious centre for the entrance and possible games. However, looking back through our photos, it looked cramped in a few areas such as the Photobooth, and Dessert Bar. We’re not sure if it was due to the lay out or if the hall could not accommodate all those things.

Aside from this, there were plenty of parking spaces for our guests.

3. Amenities

The Clubhouse has access to the pool; however this was not included in our venue package. The only thing that came with the venue was the use of air conditioners for 4 hours and ingress and egress of 4 hours each. Good thing though, that they allowed ingress of 4 hours to be extended into 8 hours without any additional costs. The guests were also allowed to go around the pool area without charging them entrance fees – although, we’re not sure if they would have been allowed to take a dip if they decided they wanted to.

4. Customer Service and Relation

We only had limited meet-ups with Antel’s administrators, but majority of these are due to the problem that we had with them and our caterer earlier in our preps. They were very accommodating with regards to the waiver that we needed, and followed through on it. Also, they recommended suppliers which were listed as their credited suppliers.

One negative comment we have of their customer relations is that they are not at all open to negotiations. There was this small multipurpose room that is also for rent which was beside the ballroom we availed. Our OTD, asked if it would be possible to make use of the room during the start of the reception for Ron and I to have a change room for about less than an hour. They agreed, but with a fee same as their regular fees. We made “tawad” as we will only be using it in a short amount of time, but they did not give in.  In the end, we did not rent the room because it was too costly for us.

All in all, they are still a good place to have your intimate gatherings, and I guess the price is worth it considering that they have a one event per day policy. Which was a plus as suppliers will not be rushed to set up and clean up. J

Blessed,
